Eduroam at ZSI

Eduroam is an international cooperation between research and education institutions. It aims at providing access to IT resources, in particular internet access, for individuals using wireless networking (with laptops or other devices). Resources are granted by all participating institutions, while access is controlled by the home institution.

Eduroam for visitors

You will need an Eduroam login from your home institution to use the WLAN at the Centre for Social Innovation.

If you are authorized by your home institution, the ZSI will grant you (limited) access to

• the internet

• in-house printers

• a temporary file share for collaboration with ZSI members

The name of the WLAN (SSID) at our site is eduroam.

Eduroam for ZSI members

Für Institutsmitglieder ist hier eine Mini-Howto zur Einrichtung und Benutzung von Eduroam:

1. Falls erstmaliger Login: Die Schritte in dieser Anleitung ausführen.

2. Mit dem Funknetz eduroam verbinden.

3. Einloggen mit username@zsi.at und passwort. Dabei sind username und passwort die gleichen wie beim Anmelden am lokalen PC. Danach das Zerifikat bestätigen. Falls der Login erfolgreich war, werden die Zugangsdaten gespeichert und müssen beim nächsten mal nicht mehr eingegeben werden.

Der file share, der für GästInnen sichtbar ist, ist unter T:\guests verfügbar.

Bei Aufenthalten an fremden Instututen/Einrichtungen empfiehlt es sich, vorher unter eduroam (Europa) nachzuschauen, ob eduroam unterstützt wird, wie die SSID des WLAN-Netzwerks lautet und ob PEAP unterstützt wird (manche Einrichtungen unterstützen nur TTLS).

For ZSI guests without eduroam login

We provide weekly changing wireless logins for visitors. The passwords are changed every Monday at 06:00 local time. Please ask the IT staff.

Deleting all EAP credentials (Windows)

Mostly for admins: delete-eapol.exe

In case your client does not accept our CA certificates, you have to install them: TERENA.crt and UTN-USERFirst.crt
Alternatively, you could use this: ca_eduroam-zsi.pem
